Ratan Naval Tata (Ratan Tata) is one of India’s most respected industrialists and philanthropists. He is the former chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, one of India’s largest and oldest conglomerates, with interests in industries ranging from steel and automobiles to IT services and consumer goods. Life Journey: December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, India and passed away at the age of 86 in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday, October 09, 2024. Tata was admitted in critical condition and was under intensive care since 7 October 2024. On the night of 9 October 2024, he died at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, at the age of 86. A day of mourning was announced by the Government of Maharashtra following the death of great legend. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Cornell University (1962). • Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School (1975). Major Contributions: • Global Expansion: Ratan Tata is credited with expanding the Tata Group’s global presence, making key acquisitions that elevated Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and other companies to global recognition. • Innovation: He was instrumental in the development of the Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, designed to provide affordable transportation to millions in India. • Philanthropy: Tata is deeply committed to social causes, focusing on healthcare, education, and rural development through Tata Trusts, which he continues to actively support post-retirement.
